The director of the previous two films, Paul King, decided not to direct this part
Synopsis
Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives in the Bear Retirement Home. With the Brown family in tow, an exciting adventure follows when a mystery throws them on an unexpected journey. However, he pitched the idea for this third film and was involved as an executive producer.. In Graham Norton and guests: Billy Crystal/Emily Mortimer/Hugh Bonneville/Pharrell Williams/Michael Kiwanuka (2024). Okay, Ms.
Brown has gone in a new direction
For those who don’t know, previous incumbent Sally Hawkins said it’s time to move on. I tried to warm to her, but to me, Emily Mortimer is just a senior product of the London School of Lovely Girls. I know the series has moved on, but Emily’s opening moves are irritatingly flat and uninspiring. For a few minutes I thought Oh no!! I struggled to warm to her, she’s strangely improved later in the film…the least they could have done is give her a meaningful script, she seemed too much like a little wife who doesn’t say much.
Let’s be fair
Sorry, Em! Ditto for Madeleine Harris who plays Judy, maybe great more lines next time, for both. She may have tried to be Sally Hawkins on occasion, I’m not sure, but she had big boots to fill and Sally was a roaring success. They all performed their roles very well in the end. So that this time the lovely Peruvian finds himself taking the initiative and saving the family members.
the target audience
This journey takes him through the art of Lahndan across the world to guess where… A family member is in trouble, and the oldest folly and mortal sin is the cause of all the mischief. The scenery in the distance is stunning, just beautiful, it inspired me to go there, as did London which is somberly happy. There is a lot of joy, action and tears in the movie, but very young children, not very brave, will find the series not so heartwarming, a bit scary, I thought so at times. Visually it’s just as fantastic as the previous films, while the script is flat and a bit predictable at times, the mysteries unlocked were simple enough for a 5 year old to solve…ahem..
Forget if you have healthy phobias of certain creatures (not snakes)
haha …. this does not diminish the CGI impact of the film and one that is particularly ear-splitting. Bonneville seems to have had a hair transplant, not sure but as always he gives a great performance as well as the Walters and some great newcomers to the story. Hey..glamorous character from last movie shows up some' just say, I don’t think it’s over.
