Set in a post-apocalyptic pandemic, Left 4 Dead 2 focuses on four survivors battling hordes of the infected, who have developed severe psychosis and exhibit zombie-like tendencies. The survivors must fight their way through levels interspersed with safe houses that act as checkpoints to reach a rescue vehicle at the campaign’s finale.
Several new features have been introduced: new types of infected, melee weapons, and a storyline that connects the game’s five campaigns
The gameplay is procedurally generated by an artificial intelligence engine called the “Director”, which tracks player actions and adjusts the scenario to provide a dynamic challenge.
