Synopsis
Decades after their match at the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, middle-aged Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence are once again martial arts rivals. The team behind Cobra Kai searched the studio’s vaults and found tons of never-before-seen clips, which they were able to introduce into the series via flashbacks. One of them involves Zabka’s real-life mother, who has been seen on the station from different angles until 2018. Many people believe that Miyagi&# 39; His name on the tombstone is a constant mistake, in Karate Kid 4 (1994) his name is Keisuke, but it is actually shown on the sign holding Chozen in Karate Kid 2 (1986) as Nariyoshi for him earlier.
This means that The Next Karate Kid changed its name, while Cobra Kai kept its previous name
However, another interesting fact is that the name given in The Karate Kid Part II is not the original name. Miyagi. In The Karate Kid (1984), Miyagi’s name Hideo is briefly seen on dog tags attached to the keys to a 1948 Ford that Daniel got it for his birthday. It’s not overwrought (or under )
Seeing that a new series was being made 30 years after the movie ended, I was a little skeptical. But after seeing the trailers – I felt they were onto something. After watching a few episodes – I can tell you they nailed it. This is the best show – anywhere.
It’s neither corny nor silly
It’s the perfect mix of seriousness with a few throwaways or 80s references here & there This revival could have been a disaster, but they are the writers, directors & Actors. It’s funny because as a kid I wanted to punch Johnny in the neck as hard as I could. But as a 40 year old – I’m kind of rooting for him. Big job to the people responsible to make this happen – and that’s of course Ralph & Thanks William!.
